On December 20, 2021, we received a new jib crane inquiry from a Qatar customer, who had cooperated with us once before.

The headquarter of the customer's enterprise is located is Doha, Qatar. Their business is relatively extensive, mainly including concrete & asphalt plants, concrete placing booms, concrete cooling plants, concrete recycling plants, lifting equipment, building maintenance units, generators and related parts and services.

Lifting requirements and application conditions

This inquiry was sent by the customer from WhatsApp, saying that another 2 mobile BZ jib cranes were needed. The effective arm length is 1.3m. The arm is fixed. What's special is the application condition. The portable jib cranes will be used on the build roof top to hoist the glass from the earth ground.

In the early stage, according to the parameter information provided by the customer, it is roughly 2 ton, the lifting height is 50m (including the underground height), the effective arm length is 2.8m, and the arm does not rotate.

Through the detailed communications, the finally requirements on the portable jib cranes on wheels are as following:

• The portable jib will be used on the roof to lift the glass that has been placed on the ground.
• The jib crane must be mobile so that it can be moved to other areas when not in use or when the project is finished.
• The arm is not required to rotate and can be fixed.
• The maximum lifting capacity is limited to 2t.
• The lifting height is 50m (48.16m in building height plus 1.84m from the roof).
• The arm of the portable jib crane is 3 m length

Tailored features of the mobile jib cranes

The second order requirements on the portable jib cranes on wheels are roughly the same as that of the last inquiry. The chassis design or foundation of the portable jib crane is required to be lengthened and equipped with 8 wheel all together to ensure the operation safety safety under loading.

The client company has very professional engineers and technical teams, and they actually issued a calculation book, but it is necessary to confirm with our technical personnel whether it is feasible.

Due to the lifting height is exceeds 30 meters and around 50 meters, it is recommended to use the electric chain hoist of the new EQ model.

• The new EQ type electric chain hoist is designed for large lifting height application and busy working application.

• This motor of the EQ type electric chain hoist has a heat dissipation device, which is more suitable for this working condition.
• Besides, the new ones are equipped with overload limiter to ensure safety during operation.

For the general electric chain hoist design, when the lifting height is 50 meters, the weight of the chain falls is all put together on the right side of the hoist, and the left wheel of the hoist is pressed up.

According to this situation, we added an extra hoist trolley to balance it and prevent the jib hoist from tilting.
