Cranes can be divided into four categories according to the form of use
Gantry cranes can be divided into four types according to their usage forms: ordinary gantry cranes, hydraulic gantry cranes, shipbuilding gantry cranes and container gantry cranes.
1. Ordinary gantry crane
This type of box crane and truss structure are more commonly used in railway gantry cranes. It can handle various items and bulk materials, with a lifting capacity of less than 100 tons and a span of 4 to 39 meters. The working level of ordinary gantry cranes with grab buckets is relatively high. Ordinary gantry cranes mainly refer to hook, grab, electromagnetic and crane gantry cranes, as well as semi-gantry cranes.
2. Gantry crane of hydropower station
It is mainly used for lifting, opening and closing gates, and can also be installed. It has a lifting capacity of 80 to 500 tons, a small span of 8 to 16 meters, and a lifting speed of 1-5 meters per minute. Although the crane is not often transported, once it is used, the work is very heavy, so it is necessary to appropriately improve the work level.
3. Shipbuilding gantry crane
Gantry cranes are used to assemble the hull of marine platforms. There are always two crane trolleys: one with two main hooks, which run on flange tracks on the bridge; the other with one main hook and one auxiliary hook. Run on the track to flip and lift the large hull part. The lifting weight is generally 100 to 1500 tons; the span is 185 meters; the lifting speed is 2 to 15 m/min, and the moving speed is 0.1 to 0.5 m/min.
4. Container Gantry Crane
Railway gantry cranes are used for terminal containers. After the trailer unloads the container from the shore container transport bridge to the cargo yard or rear, it is stacked or directly loaded and transported by the container gantry crane, which can speed up the turnover speed of the container transport bridge or other cranes. Generally, the yard used for stacking containers with a height of 3 to 4 layers and a width of 6 rows is used for tires or tracks.
Compared with the container gantry crane, the container gantry crane has a larger span and height on both sides of the mast. In order to meet the transportation needs of the port terminal, the crane has a high level of work. The lifting speed is 8-10 m/min; the span is determined according to the number of rows of the container that needs to be crossed. The larger one is about 60 meters, equivalent to 20 tons, 30 feet and 40 feet lifting capacity.
